B. Workshop syllabus

As part of this workshop, you will learn:

  • Introduction to the KEIL IDEand 8051 fundamentals
  • Creating a project with the selected target in KEIL
  • Writing the first TURN ON LED program in a super loop
  • Using the switch to turn on a LED in a super loop
  • Energy consumption implications of super loop architecture
  • Changing the super loop architecture to a much better architecture using the Timer2 interrupt of 8051 that acts as a system tick
  • Generating a PWM signal using the system tick
  • Configuring the Logic Analyser of KEIL to observe the PWM signal
  • Time triggered architectures for safety and reliability


C. Workshop Outcomes

  • Familiarity with industry-standard KEIL software.
  • Understand Time-Triggered architecture which is not a part of Engineering Course Curriculum. ( College curriculums focus on Event-Triggered architectures)
  • Understand the fundamental principles of writing efficient and safe code in C.
  • Create embedded software that will adhere to timing constraints and safety standards.

E. Prerequisites

  1. Should have a working computer or a laptop with a video camera.
  2. Should have a good internet connection.


F. Trainer

The trainer, Mr.Govind Gaundalkar is a Partner at Microdevice Technologies. He is SafeTTy Certified in time triggered embedded systems UK and has a Certification in embedded systems from the University of Texas, Austin. Currently, he is working on creating codebase for STM32 series ARM architecture microcontroller using C language in the event-triggered domain.

He has conducted AICTE sponsored faculty development programme at S.P.I.T., Mumbai as well as various other training for students.
